Korean HRM abroadIf Korean HRM is mainly state guided, does it work abroad? Taylor et al. (2002) studied Korean plants in China, where all companies stressed a long-term strategy (consistent with growth philosophy). The HRM decision was taken largely independent of HQ, with the administration being Korean and the production, Chinese. It was found that the HRM in China was horizontal and group orientated to a greater extent than Korea, which demonstrates the ability for corporate structure and culture to adapt to another environment.
