Discussion

Crisis management is all about common sense. The only problem is that people tend not to think rationally during a crisis and sense becomes very uncommon in the workplace. firms need to analyse crises and carefully consider the decisions people make and how they change from normality to crisis.

Crisis can be seen as a process from system, organisational or individual perspective. The research of a business crisis at firm level finds common processes involved, such as Slatter and Meyers' management process failure.

Hoffman's research suggests that Management change is the most common feature of recovery phase.

Mitroff seeks to see if firms can have effective processes in environmental monitoring and management systems.

From the prescriptive view, individual learning is the starting point of effective adjustment in organisational processes.
