CMT and Simulations

One of the most important roles for the CMT is that of a facilitator, in that it ensures all team members have equal and free access to all the same information ("Single truth decision systems" are discussed by Hurd and Nyberg, 2004).

A facilitator is in charge of CMT members responsible for for legal, quality assurance, public affairs, health and safety, human resources and operations, all of which are essential to prevent a crisis or engage in damage containment.

Simulations and scenarios should remain uncertain, so as to emulate the fuzziness of information during a real crisis. This uncertainty will force the CMT to state their assumptions clearly into the following categories:

  1. What they know
  2. What they don't know
  3. What they must do immediately
  4. What they must postpone
  5. What they must track and monitor over time
