As well as writing up some of the lecture notes, I have been researching into other areas of crisis management.

Very useful stuff:

• Mitroff's book (2005) - Why Some Companies Emerge Stronger and Better from a Crisis
• Mitroff and Alpaslan (2003) - Crisis-prone and crisis-prepared firms
• Boin and Lagadec (2000) - Preparing for crises in the future
• Rosenthal and Kouzmin (2000) - Institutional Resilience. This was mentioned in both the Boin and Lagadec and the above Mitroff article, so I presumed it to be of importance.
• Mitroff's other book (1996) - Parts of The Essential Guide to Managing Corporate Crises

• Gunding (2005) - Brief summary of Typology of Crises
• Hiles (2004) Emergency Response and Operations (hilarious case study)
• Booth (1993) - Some authors and theories in the lecturer's book. This is useful for all the referencing of names he wants us to do in the exam!
• Perrow (1984) - Brief summary of Normal Accident Theory (NAT)

• Bird flu - HBR (May, 2006). Several articles by different authors on the subject

• Burt (2002) - The Failure of internationalisation in Marks and Spencer
